This Friday, July 25, is the last day to apply for Go West Craft Fest, September 13 at The Woodlands. Go West features the best of Philly art and craft, plus food from local eateries, live music and children’s activities. We are looking for creative works and handmade items, in categories like jewelry, accessories, clothing, gifts for children, home wares, skin care products, edibles and more. Nature Nights at The Woodlands: Tonight is Moth Night! |
Pack a picnic and your flashlight for NATURE NIGHTS at The Woodlands (the lovely outdoor venue for Go West Craft Fest) this summer. Tonight is “Moth Night”, the second in the 3-part series for all ages. Each month you’ll have a chance to spend some after-dark time inside the gates learning more about this important urban ecosystem and the creatures who call it home. On Moth Night, help create a “moth wall” and learn how to attract these insects to your own backyard. Craft your own aerodynamic moths out of paper with the University City Arts League and enter your creature creation into a flight contest! The Lil’ Pop Shop will also be on hand with their award-winning gourmet popsicles, so join us for some family-friendly fun after dark. Enter at 40th & Woodland; parking is available inside the grounds. |

From July 30 to August 3, Shakespeare in Clark Park joins forces with Team Sunshine Performance Corporation for an unprecedented collaboration on an epic scale: Henry IV: Your Prince And Mine. The reckless Prince Hal faces his destiny on the battlefield surrounded by an army of over 100 soldiers, performed by members of the Philadelphia community. It’s the story of Henry IV like you’ve never seen it before. VIX is proud to sponsor this year’s production (a “can’t-miss” according to Philadelphiamagazine), to be staged in “the bowl” (43rd & Chester) each night at 7pm. While shows are free to attend, donations help keep this longtime West Philly tradition going strong. |
Philly DIY Skillshare Conference |

The Philadelphia Skillshare is a three-day long do-it-yourself themed event with workshops ranging from home-buying to knitting to knowing your rights in police interactions. Organized by one of Go West’s longtime food vendors, Robyn of Black Orchid Foods, the multi-venue West Philly event also features live music and art & craft vendors.
